Ghoulish Treasure

The stories about those who let their curiosity best them? Everyone knows how they end. Thus, as someone who’s neither brave, nor an idiot, he’d avoided the basements and the attics.

Okay, he let curiosity win.

And, honestly? He’d expected stairs to a secret stash. Of wine, perhaps.

He’d definitely anticipated neither a ghoul guarding treasure chests in a flour pantry, nor accidentally torching the place.

Or burning with it.
